SteelTailor plasma and flame cutting machines are famous for its portable feature. Consumables, such as Nozzle, are important components to a CNC cutting machine.
How to use and maintain the nozzle of CNC flame cutting machines?
Nozzle is an important component for getting the high-precision cutting surface. The operation would largely influence the cutting effect. Flame cutting is mainly used in processing middle or thick plate. As the part of consumables, nozzles would be consumed easily. Therefore, it is of great importance to maintain and use nozzles correctly. Otherwise, nozzle would be excessively consumed.
1. To set a proper distance between cutting nozzle and the working piece. If CNC flame cutting machines have no automatic adjustment, operators should watch out and maintain the proper distance between nozzle and the working piece. The ideal distance is when the top of the primary flame stands about 1mm of the working piece. The distance of the nozzles depends on the size of nozzles. It should be 3 to 10mm when using acetylene, while 6 to 12mm when using other gases. Without automatic adjustment of the height, the operators should maintain a proper distance between nozzle and plate cutting. The distance could be adjusted when steel plate was deformed or uneven. If we take propane and natural gas as fuel gas, the cutting thickness could be reached to 50mm, cutting height should be doubled.
2. To choose proper type of nozzle. We should choose the type of nozzle according to the gas and the thickness of cutting materials.
3. Clean off the dirts from nozzles regularly to prevent blocking. In cutting process, residue caused by high heat would easily block the nozzles. Therefore, it is of great importance to clean off and maintain the nozzles. When cleaning nozzles, we should close the handbrake valve of preheat oxygen; Press the button of cutting oxygen, open the magnetic valve of cutting oxygen; Close the cutting handbrake valve of cutting oxygen for inserting nozzle cleaner and blowing away the dust. Pull the nozzle cleaner ups and downs along the quick oxygen hole, and then gradually open the cutting oxygen handbrake valve on the torch.
4. Pay attention to clean off and maintain the nozzles. Cutting nozzles are easy to be consumed among all of the components of CNC cutting machines. Therefore, a proper maintenance and healthcare would not only improve the working efficiency of CNC cutting machines and guarantee the cutting quality, but also extend the lifespan of CNC cutting machines and reduce the cost of production.
